GPT-4 is free? (Feat. AI Service Alan)
Eastsoft, famous for Altools, launched the Alan service in late 2023 with the motto, "The age of AI for the whole nation, Alan is making it." Why is it called Alan and what can you do with it?
The good news is that you can use GPT-4 for free through this service, which OpenAI offers for a fee, but it's a bit of a bummer that you're limited to 30 questions per day.

It's not explained on the homepage, but if you ask them directly, they'll explain why they named him Alan. Here's a rough answer to that question
Why is your name Alan?
Alan Turing, a mid-20th century British mathematician, is widely recognized as a pioneer in computer science and AI.
He proposed a theoretical model called the Turing machine, which was highly influential in shaping the fundamental principles of modern computers. He also proposed the Turing test, a criterion for determining whether a machine can think like a human.
To honor this achievement and keep his spirit alive, we named the service Alan.

So let's take a look at what we can do with Alan. From the splash screen, we can see that it supports both Windows programs and Android / iOS apps. If you scroll down, you'll see some introductory articles about this AI service.
There are two main services available, one that provides up-to-date and accurate answers to your questions.

A more unique feature is Ask a question with URLs. You can ask a question with up to five URLs and we'll answer it with references to those webpages.
Install the Alan program for Windows
In this post, I'm going to use Windows as a reference, and I'm going to ask Alan to do some Python coding for me, and then I'm going to run that source code using vscode on the Windows operating system.
In the image above, click ① to download the program. After a few seconds, double-click the ② installer file in the download fold to install it. (At this point, you'll be prompted to install through an admin program and sign up, which we'll skip since it's common. )
During the Alan installation process, the Alan Manager program is launched as shown above. Click ①Install Alan Beta to finish the process, and then click ②Open in the manager to open the Alan program.
How to use the Alan program
Βto ask what happened yesterday, and it will summarize the top news stories and link to the source.
I purposely ask them, "What happened today?" and they're like, "What happened today? 9It shows me a dozen or so articles. and you think, "That's okay," but then you see the source 1~10and found the jade tee. Did you find that tee based on my post alone?
Βto try gaslighting first (you're a Python expert now, okay?), and then it showed me other examples of questions, as well.
I've had them write Python source code to do specific things, and while it takes some time, they've given me decent results (see related post: File creation with Python, Renaming files using Python)
Alan, if you click ③'Past Conversations' in the lower left corner of the screen, you can recall previous conversations. ④ Click 'Settings' to customize shortcuts, auto-launch on OS startup, delete past conversations, and more.
Click 'Send Feedback' to provide feedback to Eastsoft about Alan's service. Clicking the 'persona' in the bottom right corner will bring up sample questions, which you can select and Alan will answer.

- Ask a question with a URL and we'll reference it and answer it.
- Currently, you can ask as many questions as you want per day.

Results of real questions and answers
The text you type to ask a question is commonly referred to as a prompt, and it's believed that gaslighting when prompting makes it more on-task. If you press ① in response to an answer, you'll see something like ②. If you click ③, you'll see ④, and you can copy your answer in its entirety.
