Installing R, RStudio - Windows
In this post, we'll cover the essentials for programming in R! Rand RStudio InstallLet's take a look at how to do this.
What is R and what is RStudio used for? It's really good for people, but I don't know how to explain it to them~ So, for your reference, let's take a look at the results of a question I asked ChatGPT.
About R and RStudio
Rspecializes in data analysis, statistics, and visualization. Programming languagesin Python. It's a powerful tool for data analysis and more, and is a popular language among researchers, data scientists, and analysts.
RStudiois the Integrated Development Environment (IDE)in R. It helps make it easier to write R source code. It provides features such as text editing, running and debugging source code, organizing projects, and more.
Here's more from the R home page. I've supplemented the text with some translation help from DeepL.
R is a language and environment for statistical computing and graphics. It is a GNU project similar to the S language and environment developed by John Chambers and his colleagues at Bell Labs (formerly AT&T, now Lucent Technologies). R provides a wide range of statistical and graphical techniques, including linear and nonlinear modeling, classical statistical tests, time series analysis, classification, clustering, and more, and is highly extensible.
One of R's strengths is that it's easy to create well-designed, publication-quality graphs, including mathematical symbols and formulas where necessary. You have detailed control over the smallest design decisions within your graphics, and you have full control over them.
R is available as free software in source code form under the terms of the Free Software Foundation's GNU General Public License. It compiles and runs on a variety of UNIX platforms and similar systems (including FreeBSD and Linux), Windows, and MacOS.
Ah~ I don't know, I'll just install it on my computer~ You know how to install programs, right? After downloading the file, click on it, overwrite it, and hit "NextNextNext...". Actually, you don't need to look at the explanation below!
Download & Install R
From Google R download in the search bar. Download R-4.3.2, which is the latest version at the time of this post. Click on the search result to enter the R homepage. (No, this guy is not very helpful.) Ah, yes! Click here~( https://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/base/ )

When the file has finished downloading, click on it. You can choose the language based on your preference (English is recommended), or if you're English-challenged, you can choose Korean (English is recommended, and Terry, the crazy one, chooses Korean).

It tells you to read the important information, but you casually ignore it. It's about licensing, and even if you don't read it, there's nothing wrong with using R for the average person. Just leave the folder location as it is, and say next next next next...

For those of you who keep clicking next, next, next... out of ignorance, but I still have a soul, I encourage you to read this carefully.

Keeping is next. Decide whether you want to create an R icon on the desktop or in the Quick Launch..... None of this is necessary, because we're not going to run R directly, so what? Alstudio will do that for us. (Yeah, do my job for me. I like doing it for you.)

Click Soulless NextNextNext...(Since Young Duckle), and before I knew it R for Window 4.3.2 You've completed the installation.

Download & Install Alstudio
Now that we're done with the R Young's cycle, we can use the RStudio YoungDarkleEnter 'RStudio download' in the search bar and go to the posit homepage. Click 'ACCEPT ALL' despite the cookie blah blah blah.

Alstudio's service provider POSIT Homepage Click 'DOWNLOAD RSTUDIO' on the initialization screen. I searched for R separately, and here is the R download and install menu!(I'll do everything here~) First, download RStudio. It may look different from below due to the homepage reorganization, but you can intuitively understand it.

Click on the downloaded file and 'Youngdarkle' it. You'll find yourself at the end of the tunnel. Windows is kinder to you than you are to it. When you press the Start button, Windows is kind enough to show you your recently added programs, R and Alstudio.

As above, just use the Whether you're using R or RStudio, you'll be able to get your hands on YoungDacl. It's always easy to uninstall a program, but many people don't do it. All it takes is a single click to run a program in YoungDarkle. Sheen Worldopens up (oh, how I hate that).
Next timeWe're going to use RStudio & Quarto to create a homepage. What, what, what? Isn't this guy for data analysis, statistics, etc.? Actually, that's not so exciting! Let's do something fun to get familiar with RStudio.
Thank you for your hard work today.
Until the day you're comfortable with technology, LIFE2.0: IT Playground, Terry Thank you.
