A Complete Guide to Conquering MacOS Shortcuts - for Windows Escapists
hello. I'm a two-month old MacLean. I brought home an iMac, and I've been introduced to macOS for the first time in my life, but I'm so used to Windows OS that I'm very, very uncomfortable with macOS shortcuts and everything. However, there are many things on Mac that you can't find on Windows, so I have to try barley rice, and I hope that this barley rice will become rice, and it will become a healthy multigrain rice that combines Mac and Windows.
So in this post, we'll use the 3 "you need to know this" shortcuts and basic/advanced shortcutsin this article. I've organized the basic and advanced shortcuts in a table below for your convenience. If you're new to Apple's playground, like me, you might want to start with the basic shortcuts.
Oh, and here's a quiz for you: what's the shortcut for typing Apple's logo? If you don't know, let's start from the top and work our way down.
Honey MacOS Shortcut 1 - Launch Full Screen Mode

Unlike Windows OS, on Mac, when you launch a browser or application, you'll see the shape shown above in the upper left corner. If you hover your mouse cursor over the shape on the right, you'll see the same shape on the left. This is intuitive. Windowed, windowed down, full screento do it. But when you're working with the keyboard, it's not always convenient to go to that location with the mouse and click on it, so you need to learn shortcuts.
Toggle full screen Shortcut! Control(^) + Command(⌘) + F beforeUsed to launch apps in body screen mode or to switch from full screen back to normal windowed (windowed) mode.in the file.
CCFto memorize? It's easy to memorize, but the question is how to arrange your fingers to press the keys. I guess it's up to you, but for me, I like to press the keys with my ring finger, thumb, and index finger in that order.
Honey MacOS Shortcut 2 - Go to the web browser's previous tab
When you're browsing the web, you'll often have multiple tabs open in your web browser. But when you click a link on a webpage to open a new window, you'll often have to go back to the previous tab to open another link in a new window on the same webpage. (Is it just me?) It's a pain to use your mouse to navigate to the previous tab and click on it. (You don't want to do anything but breathe, do you?) This shortcut eliminates that pain.
Move the web browser previous tab Shortcut! Control (^) +Shift (⇧) + Tab(⇥) This shortcut allows you to use the Go to the previous tab in your web browseron the keyboard.

Honey MacOS Shortcut 3 - Type a special character or emoji
Do you know how to type special characters or emojis with a keyboard shortcut in Windows OS? If you do, you're a true Windows OS user! The answer is Windows key + dot (.). Memorize it and try it out~ (Hey, boss! What are you doing?)
Doesn't our Mac have something like this? Enter special characters/emojis Shortcut! ctrl(^) + cmd(⌘) + spacebar If you use this shortcut, you'll get a window that looks like this, and you can choose the one you want to use.

I think learning these three shortcuts will improve your Mac experience a lot. You can learn the other basic and advanced shortcuts below as you go along. In my experience, Windows users coming to macOS for the first time struggle with shortcuts, even the simplest ones, so learning them early on will go a long way toward making you more productive.
